The theme of this year’s conference was “Building on a Solid Foundation,” and the event focused on taking a look at where the industry is and where it is going.
The team got an in-depth look into public-private partnerships (P3s) which are becoming mainstream in the United States. We also gained the latest updates from the world of information security as they pertain to surety bonds. An information security consultant who assesses the security position of organizations by simulating the work of black hat hackers outlined a recent project for the team. The consultant described how he was able to gain complete access to all secure information by hacking into a construction company—and what kinds of security controls can stop this kind of breach in the future and help security professionals detect attacks before it’s too late.
